Hong Kong Goods Exempt from China Section 301 Tariffs
The U.S Customs and Border Protection has announced that Hong Kong goods will not be subjected to China Section 301 Tariffs. This news comes after China announcing all Hong Kong goods must be labeled to show that China is the country of origin by September 25.
CBP also made other clarifications as below:
-Goods not marked properly after September 25 may be brought into a foreign trade zone to be properly marked under a permit to manipulate issued by the port director
-Goods that are falsely or incorrectly marked may be brought into a foreign trade zone under a permit to manipulate to correct or remove such marking so as to comply with the laws and regulations
-Entry summary procedures have not changed and filers should continue to file their entry summaries and duty payments according to current regulation and policy
